Ministry Teams at UCC Parker-Hilltop

At UCC Parker-Hilltop, our ministry teams are the hands, heart, and voice of our church community. Whether caring for one another, organizing worship, feeding neighbors, or nurturing the next generation, there is a place for everyone to serve and connect.

Care & Nurture Team

  • To help church members navigate the ups and downs of life as part of a loving, supportive church community, working in close coordination with our pastor.

    • Pastoral Care & Check-ins: Gently reaching out to congregants who may need support, cards, phone calls, or electronic check-ins.

    • Meal Trains: Setting up coordinated home-cooked meals for members experiencing illness, health challenges, or the loss of a loved one.

    • Memorial Services & Weddings: Assisting families and wedding coordinators alongside the pastor in planning, hosting, and supporting services.

    • Trained Caregivers: Team members receive specialized training in pastoral care and confidentiality to ensure compassionate and respectful support.

Outreach Team

  • To build welcoming, safe, and meaningful connections throughout Parker and surrounding communities, extending an open invitation for all to discover fellowship and faith with us.

    • Community Connection: Identifying local spaces and groups where people are searching for fellowship, spiritual support, and inclusive community.

    • Print & Digital Materials: Designing informational resources and welcome materials to share our message within the church and across the town.

    • Visitor Engagement: Creating warm, accessible pathways that help Sunday visitors grow into deeply connected members of our church family.

    • Resource Stewardship: Wisely utilizing congregational contributions to maximize outreach impact and community benefit.

Meeting Schedule: 3rd Sunday of each month after the worship service

  • "We commit to follow Jesus Christ's teachings as we prayerfully pursue opportunities to care for our neighbors in need."

    • Vetting & Direct Aid: Carefully reviewing local and global grant requests to direct congregational giving where it makes the greatest impact.

    • Local & Regional Partners: Providing consistent financial and volunteer support to partners like the Parker Task Force, Help and Hope Center (Castle Rock), La Puente (Alamosa), and broader UCC ministries.

    • DCSD Emergency Response: Serving as an emergency response partner supporting the ~200 unhoused students within the Douglas County School District alongside the district's Homeless Education Coordinator.

  • Sunday morning worship is our central offering to the community—a sacred space to nurture our congregation and warmly welcome newcomers into the presence of God.

    • Service Planning: Cooperating closely with Rev. Lee to weave together thoughtful scripture readings, prayers, and sermon themes each week.

    • Music & Arts: Coordinating congregational hymns, special musical offerings, visual artwork, videos, and guest artists to enrich the worship experience.

    • Weekly Preparation: Working behind the scenes and alongside office staff to ensure bulletin preparation and sanctuary setup run smoothly.

Christian Education

Team Leader: Eileen Enterline

  • Nurturing children and youth (Preschool through High School) to learn that we are rich not by how much we have, but by how much we give to one another.

    • "Time with the Next Generation": A special children's message during main worship connecting the day's sermon theme to young minds.

    • Sunday Next Gen Lessons: Multi-age group gathers in the youth room for interactive lessons blending liturgy, discussion, media (Illustrated Ministries), and hands-on activities.

    • Hands-on Service Projects: Involving youth in food drives, shoe recycling, animal sanctuary penny drives, hydration stations for passersby, road cleanups, and fall harvest gleaning.

    • Community & Fellowship: Hosting fun traditions like farm animal visits, youth lock-ins, Trunk-or-Treat, ribbon-tying remembrances, and the annual Christmas presentation.

MINISTRY

TEAMS

  • WORSHIP PLANNING:  This team collaborates with our Pastor to creatively design worship services, welcoming musicians, vocalists, and those interested in writing liturgy or leading choirs.

    USHERS & GREETERS: This team assists with worship services by greeting, helping, collecting offerings, serving Communion, and supporting the Pastor. It's a great opportunity to connect with others in the church.

    TECH TEAM: Our Tech Team ensures that everyone can fully participate in worship, whether in-person or online. They manage sound, visuals, and Zoom hosting each week, helping to create a seamless and welcoming worship experience for all.

  • CHILDREN & YOUTH: We are recruiting a children's youth leader for Sunday mornings and seeking to build our team of youth volunteers.

  • CARE & NURTURE: This team, in collaboration with the Pastor and Church Administrative Assistant, oversees the congregation's spiritual well-being. It coordinates pastoral care visits, weddings, baptisms, funerals, bereavement support, and after-church fellowship.

  • CHURCH COUNCIL: This team handles the church's administrative business. To join, individuals must be members of UCCPH for at least one year.

    COVENANT COMMITMENT: This Team manages and promotes the financial support of the church.

    BUILDING AND GROUNDS:  This Team is responsible for organizing church work projects for upkeep and maintenance, lawn care, snow removal, kitchen, painting, etc.

    SAFETY:  This Team trains and designs safety systems for the church.

  • MISSIONS: We have a passion for missions! Current projects include:  Parker Task Force, Help & Hope Center in Castle Rock, Colorado, and Gleaning with La Puente in Alamosa, Colorado.
